Your profile, notifications, and directory privacy
Managing how the community reaches you and what your neighbors can see.
Your personal settings live in the portal: open Settings in the top navigation (the page is titled My settings). Two things are managed here — how we reach you, and what your neighbors can see.
Contact and notifications
Add or update your phone number, and set your notification preferences — which kinds of community activity you hear about (announcements, meetings, and so on) and through which channel.
Honest notes on channels, so nothing surprises you:
- Portal and email are the live channels today. Portal notifications always work; email depends on the event type and your preferences.
- Text messages (SMS) are visible in the preferences but not active yet — SMS ships in a later release (V2). Setting the toggle now simply records your preference for when it arrives.
- Some email, like community announcements, begins delivering after your community's email domain verification is complete — until then announcements reach you reliably in the portal, with a banner on the portal home page for anything important.
Invitation, meeting-notice, and violation-notice emails are already live — those arrive regardless of the announcement-email rollout.
Directory privacy
The neighbor Directory shows only what each person opts to share. In My settings you control four switches: name, email, phone, and address. By default your name is shown and the rest is private — nothing beyond your choices is ever displayed to neighbors. Board members retain the administrative records they need to run the association (they can't lose your address for assessment purposes), but the resident-facing directory respects these switches completely.
Password and appearance
Need a new password? Sign out and use Forgot password on the login page — a reset link arrives by email. Prefer less glare? The theme toggle in the top bar switches between light and dark modes, and the setting sticks per device.
For board members
These personal settings follow you, not your role — a board member's phone number and directory privacy are managed here in the portal just like any resident's. Community-wide configuration (branding, community notification defaults, AI behavior) is separate, in the dashboard's Settings — see the community settings article.
